Worship Servants

Many Hands Are Needed to Serve Our Lord
We believe weekly worship is important to people growing in a vibrant relationship with Jesus.  During worship many people who call Light of Christ home are a part of welcoming those who worship together.  There are many ways that you can assist in making worship an important part of a person's weekly connection with God and others.  You can offer your help in the following areas:

Altar Care
Communion Server
Greeters
Connection Center
Multimedia
Readers
Ushers
Visual Arts
Worship Setup

Altar Care – This team of volunteers works primarily behind the scenes preparing the altar for worship, providing bread and wine for communion, tending to the beauty of the worship area, and more.  We need volunteers who can help during the worship services and volunteers who can bake communion bread during the week.

Multimedia – Our Multimedia Team includes volunteers who work in the following areas:
  • Sound Board: Participants should have an appreciation of and an ear for music. No experience is required. We offer special training sessions as well as training during praise band rehearsal. We also offer the opportunity to shadow our techs during worship. Additionally, sound support is needed Sunday mornings in Faithland as well as during the week in SUMMIT and PATH. Team members (high school aged and up) generally volunteer their time 1-2 times/month.
  • Lyric & Video Display: Participants operate EasyWorship for providing lyrics, video & other visual assistance throughout the worship service. General computer knowledge is needed and training is provided during praise band rehearsal. Volunteers in high school and up are a part of this ministry with some tech savvy middle school students serving as well.
  • Lighting: Enhanced lighting is a part of worship both at the Hanson Road site as well as at Westfield. Oftentimes special lighting during worship is controlled by our Lyrics & Video Display volunteers.
  • Video: Volunteers are needed throughout the week for capturing testimony and dramas, video editing, still photography and creation of ministry slide shows. The pastor’s message is captured during Saturday worship to be offered on-line during the week. Whether you can be a regular Saturday evening volunteer, a special-event photographer, or a part of video capture and editing, video ministry is an exciting team. Students are welcome to be trained in this ministry area from middle school up.
