Meadowdale Elementary School

Individuals and groups are needed to serve this diverse community of young learners in kindergarten through fourth grade at Meadowdale Elementary School in Carpentersville throughout the year.

Opportunities are available during the school day to sit in a classroom and help students by listening to them read and showing flash cards to reinforce learning.

Project Mentor is another opportunity available to increase a child's self-esteem by visiting with them, doing crafts and fun activities and involves an application, 3 hour training, and DCFS background check to serve as a weekly face-to-face midday mentor for about 30 minutes between 10:50am and 12:30pm. You can mentor several children if you have the time, meeting with each one for 30 minutes. There are also 2 after school activities from 2:45-4:00 with the children that the Project Mentors are asked to take part.
