LOC Crusaders Adult Softball Ministry 2013

Over the past two seasons, Light of Christ has had
two CO-ED recreational 14" mush softball teams.  Each team is limited to 20 players. We are happy to report that we once again have two equally competitive teams for 2013. 

Both of our teams last season ended up with identical records with 7 wins out of 10 regular season games, creating a 4-way tie for first place with 2 other park district teams.  The teams faired well in the 16+ team playoffs, with one of our teams making it to the 4th round.

The new season began on Friday, May 17th and will run through July.  There will be a double elimination tournament in mid-August where teams from the C and D divisions compete for a league championship. Our teams play in the CL Park District softball league, which holds its games at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake on Friday nights. Games times vary week to week, but are played at 6:30pm, 7:15pm, 8pm and 8:45pm.  Players must be at least 18 years to play.

Registration fees were $45 for returning players and $55 for new players.  Our goal this season was to supply all players with new jerseys that featured the church's new logo and colors, which we accomplished.


Registration for returning players ran from March 1st through March 17th.  New player/open registration began on March 18th and ran through April 7th.  See link below to register.

Family, friends and LOC members come out to cheer players on and often enjoy a social activity like going out for icecream afterward. The highest attended and most spirited game of the regular season takes place when both teams play each other. Be a part of this exciting adult ministry!
