Following college, Kim completed her Master of Arts in Teaching and Leadership through St. Xavier University. She taught math and science for eight years to students in grades 4-9 in many different settings: Puerto Rico, McHenry, and Cary. When Kim had her first son, Joshua, she stayed home to raise him and her work shifted in include piano lessons, graduate-school faculty for Pearson, Inc., and customized educational workshops for schools.

Kim began serving in the Promiseland ministry of Willow Creek Community Church in 1996. Since that time, she has served every age group birth to fifth grade. Her roles have included small group leader, coach, lead teacher, and drama production. She has even taken on a pink clown persona named “Lolly” as a fun and memorable way to reach kids with the remarkable love of Jesus. Kim’s favorite things include her husband, Jon, son Joshua, daughter Linnea, and Papillion canine Mozart. She loves sewing, scrapbooking, playing piano, hiking through grand mountains, and pausing during a busy day for tea.

Kim brings to LOC the spiritual gifts of Leadership, Wisdom, and Discernment. Her passion is two-fold: to reach children with Biblical truths in creative, fun, kid-friendly, application-oriented ways, but also to train, encourage, and lead volunteers to serve in the highest calling as spiritual role models/teachers for the children at LOC.
