Souper Bowl of Caring
Mobile Food Pantry
ALG/LITH Interfaith Food Pantry (located now at 1113 Pyott Road in Lake in the Hills) provides temporary access to food for families in need living within the boundaries of Algonquin and Lake in the Hills who are unemployed/underemployed, homeless, individuals with disabilities, elderly and children.
LOC is one of four founding churches that supports the Food Pantry by regularly collecting food and by picking up food from the two Algonquin Jewel stores to be distributed by the Food Pantry. The LOC team does the Monday morning pickup at Jewel and picks up an average of 1800lbs of food each Monday from the two stores.
Food Pantry hours:
Tuesdays & Thursdays and the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:30am to noon.
Souper Bowl of Caring:
On Super Bowl weekend we collect non-perishable items and monetary donations (make checks out to LOC and mark in the memo "Food Pantry") for the food pantry. Our Youth help with this collection during worship services.
Ongoing donations are gathered at the church in the food pantry bin inside the main front doors.
