Home Operation Support Our Troups
February 2nd from 8 a.m to 8 p.m. we would like to encourage everyone and anyone to help us make 500+ Christmas stockings to be given to the organization Operation Support Our Troops who will be sending out 5000 filled stocking to our troops next Christmas 2013. The organization starts filling the stockings in September in order to have them ready to ship by the end of October. LOC's Military Ministry "Operation: SOS" thought this February would be the perfect time of the year to get started on this project.IMMEDIATE NEEDS RIGHT NOW (before it disappears): CHRISTMAS FABRIC (cotton or cotton/poly blend prints)
Each yard of fabric will make 6 stockings. We will be needing about 85 yards of material. Please bring your fabric donations to the church office.
OPERATION SOS: SEW-A-THON
FALL IN: Saturday, Feb 2nd anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
REPORT TO: LOC Annex
YOUR ORDERS: bring yourself, friends, fabric scissors
YOUR MISSION: cutting, pinning, sewing, ironing, and/or decorating stockings
QUALIFICATIONS: No skills needed-- just anyone with the desire to help, sewers, crafty folks, PATH kids (counts as service hours)
CHOW (snacks & drinks) will be available thru-out the day
