Praise Bands

Psalm 149:1
Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.

Praise bands and praise ensembles serve as the primary accompaniment for the congregation in worship music during service. Through a combination of keyboard instruments, guitars, bass, drums and vocalists these groups breathe new life into the worship music at Light of Christ. These groups often accompany the various choirs and involve other instruments in worship leading.

Additionally, praise bands are also used in student ministries to lead worship, consisting primarily of high school aged students in the bands. Some of these groups also travel to other churches, provide music in parades and community festivals, and participate in prison ministry. Many musicians choose to serve in more than one of these bands (i.e. Blended and Contemporary). Additionally, some high school aged students serve in both LOCdown and one of the weekend worship bands.
